The Nahdlatul Ulama Executive Board (PBNU) through the
Bahtsul Masail Institute (LBM PBNU) asked the government to make a new policy
related to the export of lobster clear seeds. PBNU views the urging importance
of the CTF to stop the export of lobster clear seeds.
"Export of clear lobster seeds (BBL) must be
stopped," said Kiai Asrori Karni, who led the LBM PBNU online discussion
for the final formulation of the previous online discussions, Tuesday (4/8)
night.
LBM PBNU views the lobster clear seed export policy as not
the right policy in bringing prosperity to small fishing groups. Because the
export of lobster clear seeds on a massive scale could result in the extinction
of the lobster itself in Indonesian waters.
According to LBM PBNU, there are other policies that are
more beneficial in improving the welfare of small fishermen without disrupting
the sustainability of lobsters.
LBM PBNU hopes that the government prioritizes lobster
farming in the country. The government needs to support and prepare the lobster
cultivation infrastructure in the country to maintain the sustainability of
lobsters and increase the added value of lobsters.
"Exports are only applied to adult lobsters, not
lobster seeds. The KP Minister must prioritize management of lobster clear seed
(BBL) domestically, not export to Vietnam, and benefit those competitors,
"said Kiai Asrori Karni.
LBM PBNU explained, purchasing lobster seeds from small
fishermen could still be facilitated in order to increase the income of small
fishermen. Not prohibited and criminalized as MPP 56/2016 Candy.
"But lobster seeds purchased from small fishermen are
not for export, but are cultivated to meet export standards, in the form of
adult lobsters. Adult lobster exports must be prioritized, not exports of clear
lobster seeds, "said Kiai Asrori.
Before formulating the final decision of the bahtsul masail
diniyah al-qanuniyah commission meeting, LBM PBNU held intensive online
discussions involving various groups ranging from the government, fishing
unions, researchers, and academics.
